Brittany began her work in mental health as a Peer Support Specialist and Recovery Educator in 2010. From there she was recommended to be the Youth Program Advisor with North Carolina Families United/Statewide Chapter of Youth MOVE. She helped develop and implement the Statewide Youth Leadership Series. Through this work and national connections, she won the 2012 Voice Award for Young Adult Leadership. Brittany started on the YMN Board in the fall of 2012, and took on the role of Board Secretary for 2 years, and then completed a 2 year term as President in 2016. Brittany has her Masters in Social Work. She currently lives in the mountains of North Carolina, leading a community-based Early Recovery Team for folks in the early stages for substance abuse recovery.
