Want your art featured on a national platform? Your work can be showcased in a digital exhibit in conjunction with Mental Health Awareness Day 2017

Artists, listen up! Youth MOVE National is partnering with the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and Head Start to sponsor I Am a Work of Art, an original art showcase that celebrates the important role of art and creativity in mental health and wellness. The digital exhibit will be shown in conjunction with National Children's Mental Health Awareness Day on May 4, 2017. We're inviting all youth and young adults, ages 3 to 25, to submit original artwork that addresses both the "I Am a Work of Art" theme for this specialized exhibit as well as Awareness Day's focus on the link between behavioral and physical health.

All of the artwork will be combined into a national digital art collection which will be available to view online at AATA's website in April and May 2017. In addition, selected pieces from the collection will be showcased during the national event in Washington, DC.

You have until February 6, 2017, to submit your original pieces of artwork to be considered for the exhibit. We can't wait to see what you'll come up with!

Download the flyer and release form by clicking here.

Criteria

  • All artists must sign and submit a release form.
  • Though not required, you are allowed to submit a personal statement about your art.
  • Artists must be between the ages of 3 and 25.

How to Submit
  • Create original artwork using the exhibit theme.
  • Take a high-resolution photo of your artwork (a JPG or JPEG file between 72–120 dpi; lower resolutions will not be accepted).
  • Submit the photo and the consent form to info@arttherapy.org by February 6, 2017.
