Audio Stories – Youth Taking Action – is a miniseries sponsored by the National Training and Technical Assistance Center and Youth MOVE National. Audio Stories is a project created to look at the important work that youth and young adults across the nation are doing in areas of mental health and other youth-serving systems to highlight the achievements surrounding topics that advocate for change in the nation!
Today, we will be speaking with Shreyaa & Esha Venkat, who founded NEST4US, a non-profit philanthropic platform that mobilized volunteers worldwide to advance progress on societal issues to spark equitable solutions for the greater good by focusing on hunger, climate change, quality education, poverty, sustainability, women empowerment, and equity. On today’s episode, we will be talking with these 2021 Youth MOVE National Rockstar Organization of the Year awardees about Youth-Driven Organizational Development!

Shreyaa Venkat is the co-founder and CEO of NEST4US and a sophomore at Georgetown University pursuing Global Health studies. Nineteen-year-old Shreyaa already has 10+ years of volunteer service under her belt and has spent over 4,000 hours giving back to the community. As a Points of Light Youth Network Leader, Giving Tuesday Spark Chapter Head, Good Deeds Day Ambassador, UN CSW66 Delegate, Steelcase Social Innovation Fellow, Clinton Global University Initiative Mentor, DoSomething Research Council Representative, ICANHELP Shark Tank Judge, & Global Peace Delegate, she empowers people globally to actively shape their future and thrive in an ever-changing world.
Shreyaa is an academic honor roll student, travel soccer player, 3rd degree black belt, certified soccer referee, Kathak dancer, and assistant martial arts instructor. As a Gen-Z social activist and nonprofit leader, she advances dialogue and inspires others to take action towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals in local, national, and global communities. Shreyaa strives to create a united and just world by fostering a community built upon mutual respect, inclusivity, and understanding and positively impacting communities worldwide through passionate service.
Esha Venkat is the co-founder and COO of NEST4US and a 16-year-old junior at Broad Run High School. She has spent 3,000+ hours serving the community in a multitude of ways. Esha’s commitment to volunteering inspires countless other youth to fight for causes they believe in. According to her, you don’t have to be an adult, have a job, have any special skills, or even be a superhero to make a positive impact on someone’s life!
In addition to being a Straight A honor roll student, Esha finds time to play piano, earn her 3rd degree black belt, work as a certified soccer referee, enjoy hip-hop and Kathak, teach martial arts as an assistant instructor, and serve as the captain of her travel soccer team. She finds a healthy balance between academics and extracurricular activities, while always making time to give back to her community. In addition to being a Points of Light Youth Council Leader, Giving Tuesday Spark Chapter Head, Be Strong Global Representative, Civics Unplugged Fellow, Global Peace Delegate, DoSomething Research Council Representative, and Good Deeds Day Ambassador, Esha is also a board member of several clubs and organizations. Providing service opportunities, maintaining an inclusive attitude, and passionately serving with kindness and generosity of heart. That’s who Esha is!
