Academy
Leaders start here.
Our Leadership Academy gives youth the skills needed to make change in their communities and the systems that serve them. We do it by leveraging every youth’s lived experience as an asset to make change happen.
Ages 14–29
The Youth Advocate Leadership Academy is for youth and young adults ages 14–29 who identify as having lived experience or system involvement.
A demonstrated history of self-efficacy skills and aspire to use those skills in the context of the larger youth movement doesn’t hurt, either.
2.5 Days
The Youth Advocate Leadership Academy is a two-and-a-half-day leadership development training designed to create a peer-led environment that builds off each participant’s current skills.
We blend experiential learning with peer-facilitated group discussions and activities.
10 Learning Goals
There are too few youth leadership programs that are youth-driven. Ours is.
Participants will understand how personal values connect with their leadership skills. They will identify their own strengths. They will understand how their lived experience plays a role in leadership. And so much more. Read up on the 10 goals here.
Designed by Youth
Our curriculum is approved and vetted by young adults with lived experience.
This academy was co-created with youth advisors specifically for their peers. And it’s facilitated by young adults with lived experience, too! Master coaches and peer facilitators approach the leadership space from a shared peer perspective.
