At Youth MOVE National, we believe in the power of proximity – being close to the voices that matter most. That’s why our local chapters are at the heart of everything we do. In a country as vast and diverse as ours, real change doesn’t happen from the top down – it starts with the youth in communities who are empowered, heard, and equipped to lead.
Our 40+ Youth MOVE Chapters are more than partners – they’re catalysts for systems change. They’re the trusted voices in the room, and the champions of change in towns, cities, and neighborhoods across the country. Together, we are building a movement – not from one office, but from every corner of the nation.
In 2023 alone, our Chapters reached 21,446 individuals directly and touched the lives of 107,941 more through ripple-effect engagement. Whether meeting weekly, monthly, or even multiple times per week, these young leaders consistently show up for their peers and their communities. It’s a rhythm of connection that fuels resilience, belonging, and momentum.
Each chapter’s work is as diverse as the youth they serve, yet all are united by shared purpose. Their focus spans six core areas:
- 91% lead efforts in Community Involvement & Advocacy,
- 80% support Personal Development & Empowerment,
- 76% build Youth Voice & Leadership,
- 69% create spaces for Recreation & Peer Networking,
- 64% amplify Social Marketing & Awareness,
- and 51% offer Peer Service Delivery.
These numbers tell a deeper story: one of passion, purpose, and the critical role local chapters play in advancing social justice, holistic wellness, and equity for young people. This isn’t just programming; it’s life-changing work driven by youth who know firsthand what their communities need.

Youth MOVE Colorado stands as a youth-driven force dedicated to improving services and systems and supporting the growth and development of its members. This chapter drives impactful changes in critical areas by uniting the voices of those with lived experiences across mental health, juvenile justice, education, and child welfare.

Youth MOVE CO engages youth to increase healthy futures in Colorado. We connect, support, and build capacity, expand youth and youth adult advocacy to guide positive changes in policies and programs. We practice authentic youth engagement through youth driven decision making by elevating youth voices of lived experience.

We’re always looking to increase our chapter presence all over the U.S. Starting January 2024, youth groups can apply for Chapter status anytime throughout the year. If you would like your youth group to be a part of a national effort, then check out our downloadable checklist form and review it with your group.
